Georgia Dream Home Ownership Program

A first-time homebuyer in Georgia, is anyone who hasn't owned a home in the past three years - so if this is you, you can qualify for the Georgia Dream Home Ownership Program.

This program allows for homebuyers who make under a certain income amount ($74,000 - 84,000 depending on household size) to get help with a down payment!

It is important to note, that you need a minimum credit score of 640 and you should be able to invest $1,000 of your own money to get started.

  • Standard down payment assistance provides eligible borrowers $5,000 in down payment assistance.

  • The PEN option is for buyers who work as public protectors, educators, or health care providers or who are active military service members. This option provides assistance up to $7,500.

  • The Choice program is designed for individuals with a disability. This program also provides $7,500 of down payment assistance.

With any of these options, it is important to note that you will be expected to pay the funds back if you no longer use the home as your primary residence or if you sell, refinance, or transfer ownership of the property.
